Goodwill Industries:  Tim Bryan awarded Goodwill Lifetime Achievement Award



DETROIT – Today Goodwill Industries of Greater Detroit announced details of its annual “Community Awards Luncheon” that recognizes the volunteers, employers, trainees, leaders and businesses that are dedicated to putting Metro Detroiters back to work.

This year, Goodwill honors Timothy M. Bryan of GalaxE.Solutions with the Lifetime Achievement Award for his vision and commitment to bringing jobs to Detroit. Bryan has been an advocate for the Detroit region, bringing opportunity and vitality to the city’s core.

As CEO of GalaxE.Solutions, Bryan championed the “Outsource to Detroit” and “Love, Detroit!” initiatives, both focused on establishing Detroit as a competitive IT hub and touting the benefits of doing business in the City. Under Bryan’s leadership, GalaxE.Solutions has created award-winning efforts aimed at putting Metro Detroiters to work through community engagement, vital fundraising efforts and an innovative model for insourcing American jobs presented to President Obama at nhe White House.

“This event is focused on appreciating the people and organizations that contribute to Goodwill’s success all year round. The inspiring determination of our trainees combined with the leadership and vision of Metro Detroit’s business community substantially contributes to creating opportunities in our region,” said Lorna Utley, president and CEO of Goodwill Industries of Greater Detroit. “Tim Bryan is a sterling example of someone who seized the opportunity to create positive change within our community,” she added. 

The Detroit Lions will be recognized with the Corporate Award in celebration of the organization’s community partnership with Goodwill. As part of the Living for the City initiative, the Detroit Lions have supported various Goodwill job training, education and placement initiatives. Detroit Lions Team President Tom Lewand will accept the award. 

“Our partnership with Goodwill Industries provides an opportunity for us to connect with and inspire those in our community who face employment challenges,” said Detroit Lions Team President, Tom Lewand. “We realize that a robust workforce builds a stronger region. The Detroit Lions remain committed to supporting efforts that help our friends and neighbors achieve economic independence to strengthen the community.” 

The event will also celebrate the achievements of trainees, workers, community partners, volunteers and employers committed to Goodwill’s mission of putting people with employment challenges back to work.

The Community Awards Luncheon will take place on Thursday, Feb. 13 at DTE Energy, One Energy Plaza, Detroit, Mich.
